Nigel Eastment
A Runnymede resident for over 60 years, the last 36 in Ottershaw; married to Sue with two grown children. I am currently chairman of Ottershaw Park Estate, Sheep Section Secretary at the Chertsey Agricultural Show and on the Fairoaks Airport Consultative Committee (representing the Chobham Society) and in the past was involved with Ottershaw Cubs and Scouts.
I was Facilities Manager at Penguin Books/Pearson and am currently chairman (un-paid) of a member-owned, 280 unit holiday village. I am the sort who has ‘opinions’ but who is also prepared to get involved to help achieve them.
I have real concern for the future of Ottershaw. Our rural village has long gone and we must try to prevent the urban sprawl that could engulf our remaining green spaces. Towards that end I actively supported Ottershaw’s Independent Councillors and more recently their promotion of the Ottershaw Neighbourhood Plan, which I see as the most effective way for all residents to influence local development, to best protect our village environment and our green spaces.
