Mike Freshney

Mike, aged 77, has lived in Ottershaw for 47 years, having been born in Lincolnshire. He has been married to Joan for 50 years and has a daughter and son, and four grandchildren.
He particularly enjoys travel, golf, gardening, and music, and working to help Ottershaw be a safe, enjoyable and thriving community.

His career commenced in training and becoming a Highways, Bridges and Civil Engineer with a County Council, then moving into Land Development in the Bahama Islands. He has served as Chairman, Non-Executive Director, or Managing Director of a number of major public and private home building companies, and Building Standards bodies in the UK and Internationally.
He is semi-retired, and also serves as a Director and Ambassador on the Board of Habitat for Humanity GB. It is a worldwide Charity building homes for those in the greatest poverty conditions, along with providing relief shelter in major disaster areas. Mike is physically helping build in Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam and organizing Volunteer teams for projects both overseas and in the UK.
