Julie Last

I moved to Ottershaw in 1986 with my husband Barry and are both happily retired now.
I previously worked in accounts and office management and was with my last firm for 11 years.

My main hobby is my allotment which I have had for over 15 years and is still a work in progress.

I took on Hon Treasurer duties for our allotment Association some 8 years ago and am also the Treasurer and committee member for the annual Ottershaw Mayfair, which keeps us busy each year for the months leading up to the event.

I was prompted to take on the role of Hon Treasurer for the Ottershaw Society in 2019, after hearing about the difficulties they had in filling the post.

Now I have more time, I hope to experience the walks around Ottershaw and surrounding areas and get to know my local environment better.

Barry and I hope to travel during our retirement, fitting it around the growing season obviously! I also enjoy socialising with family and friends and will soon reach my goal of trying out all the local pubs, restaurants, coffee shops etc. in the local area.

My deep affection for Ottershaw convinced me to volunteer as part of the Neighbourhood Forum Working Group. I am excited to be working alongside my fellow volunteers, to publicize the Neighbourhood Forum within the defined village area, with the aim of engaging with as many residents, businesses and community groups as we can possibly reach and thereby ensure a vibrant, engaged local community who will share their vision for the future of Ottershaw.
